Traditionally LG is cheaper than the competition. They price phones lower than Samsung, lower than Apple, and recently even Google devices cost more.
The LG G6 for an example is a great phone but significantly cheaper than the Galaxy S8. That said, the LG V30 could be one of their most expensive smartphones to date. Think about it. A bigger 6-inch edge-to-edge screen, water-resistance, premium design, dual cameras, etc, etc. When you add all of that up this phone will likely end up costing more than the $799 LG wanted for the V20 in 2016. If you can't afford that, get something else now. A good choice is the OnePlus 5. It has dual cameras and a similar premium design yet it's only $479. Yes, you can get the LG V30 on a payment plan from carriers, but it's still going to be expensive in the long run.
